Stuart is a neutered rat terrier/whippet cross weighing around 15lbs. This boy is just the best all around dog who makes everyone fall in love with him. He can be high energy and goes for runs every day or low energy and be ok with walks or playtime with other dogs in the household. He ignores cats and sometimes seems afraid of them when he does actually notice them. He is great with dogs after a few minutes of getting used to them and will play for hours with them. He does seem to be a bit worried about new situations such as new houses, strangers, even going for walks with new distractions but he isn't aggressive, just concerned. Once he thinks about the new situation a bit he gets used to it and is fine. Think of him as being sensitive about new things. Stuart is fully crate trained and is used to staying in the crate during the day and sleeping in it at night. He even goes into his crate during the weekend when he is tired and wants some alone time. Absolutely no food aggression but is highly treat motivated so trick/obedience training will be a breeze. Regarding training, he is extremely intelligent and a fast learner. He already knows sit, down, shake, and roll over as well as the "off" command for getting off of furniture and such. Only a small bit of leash pulling when going for walks so some training on leash skills would be a good idea but not necessary. He absolutely excels around children, even angry screaming 6 month old babies. Car rides are a breeze for him so taking him places like the park will be fun. Stuart is fully housetrained but if he gets bored, he will find some trash cans to raid, most commonly bathroom trashcans for the toilet paper rolls, or the lint from the dryer. Even though he would love to play all the time, his favorite thing to do is to be with his people/person whether that is sitting on the couch all day sleeping/watching TV or going hiking. At night he will curl up with you under the covers and absolutely melt your heart at the amount of trust he has in his human buddy. This boy is so sweet and charming that he would make a great dog for anyone whether you are looking for a competition oriented or just family dog oriented. Please consider letting this boy curl up in your arms at night, you will never regret it.  (AM)
